The mandatory national standard GB 38995-2020, *Feeding Bottles and Teats for Infants and Young Children*, falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It was promulgated on October 21, 2020, and came into effect on November 1, 2021. The standard applies to feeding bottles for infants and young children manufactured from various materials, including plastic, glass, and metal.

Specifically regarding glass feeding bottles, the standard stipulates additional requirements for thermal shock resistance, water resistance, internal stress, and mechanical impact strength to prevent deformation and breakage of the bottles.

Furthermore, the safety of glass feeding bottles must comply with other relevant national standards, such as GB 4806.2-2015 (*National Food Safety Standard: Teats*), GB 4806.5 (*National Food Safety Standard: Glass Products*), GB 19778-2005 (*Permissible Limits for the Release of Lead, Cadmium, Arsenic, and Antimony from Glass Packaging Containers*), and GB 17762-1999 (*Safety and Hygienic Requirements for Heat-Resistant Glassware*). The technical requirements set forth in this standard are more comprehensive and detailed-and the testing conditions more rigorous-than those found in current standards in Europe and the United States.
